But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. Hebrews 5:14 NIV

Let me ask you a question.  Have you ever not eaten a meal at the time you should have eaten?  Of course you have.  We all have. Perhaps you had something to do and time did not allow or you needed to finish an assignment.  Now think about this have you ever felt ‘guilty or bad’ for not eating. In most cases I would say no. I know for me I have never felt guilty for not eating and to be honest all I felt was HUNGRY!!!  The Word of God is our food but in many cases when people don’t read when they or other people think they should or don’t read as long as they think or other people think they should they feel guilty.  This is law based thinking not grace based thinking.  The law demands but grace supplies. The Father does not want you to have the attitude, “Oh I HAVE to go spend time in The Word.” No your attitude should be just like eating in the natural you should know that you need to spend time in The Word because spending time in The Word is spending time with God and with Jesus.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1 NIV

Now I do not believe that any believer would outwardly say, “Oh boy, now I gotta go and spend some time with Jesus, aww man let me get this over with.”  That would be rude, especially if He is your Saviour and you love Him.  No the attitude now becomes, “I get to go spend time with Jesus and I am pumped!!!!  I am going to get some good things from Him today!!!”  This is the attitude of joy that gives strength, wisdom, understanding and expectation to your Word time.  Your whole attitude will change if you take your Bible and look at it and then make the decision  that that book is NOT SOMETHING but that it is SOMEBODY!!!  It is Jesus and it is more real than when the disciples walked with Him in the flesh because you receive Him as He is by faith.  When you operate this way there is an automatic blessing involved because Jesus said…..

…Blessed are those who believe without seeing me. John 20:29 New Living Translation

So when you have not partaken of The Word, you should feel hungry not guilty. As a matter of truth, just like you can get grumpy or short patient when you have not eaten in the natural, the same thing can happen with your spiritual food.  I have even noticed that many time I think I am hungry naturally but really I was simply hungry spiritually.  A nice set down with The Word and I am satiated and the feeling of hunger has passed naturally and spiritually.  Don’t let law based thinking or so law based preacher get you into self condemnation or guilt because you are redeemed from both of those things.  Jesus said His Body is meat indeed and His Blood is drink indeed so partake of communion and fellowship in The Word often.  This will keep you strong and spiritually healthy and in fellowship with Jesus Himself.

All the ‘blessed’ to you!!! Shalom!

1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. 2And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

3I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. 4He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever. 5And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” 6And he also said, “It is finished!”

Revelation 21:6 New Living Translation

One of the main things that believers must understand about The Word of God (which is Jesus) is that things are not done when they are seen or appear to have happened. They are done as soon as God speaks. God’s Word is so powerful that as soon as He speaks it, BAM! It is finished!!! I want to prove this to you by our opening text. Many believers think that the things in the book of Revelation are for later but, close examination will show you that many if not all of these things are already done and available to the believer who sees what Jesus said and believes and receives it. The first verse says, “I saw”. Is saw past tense or future tense? The next verse says, “The old earth had disappeared.” Here is a secret. Do not allow time to rob you of the TRUTH and PRESENCE(presentness) of God’s Word. The main key to deciphering and understanding The Word is The Word Himself: JESUS. Jesus has authority over time and this is how he forgave all your future sins over two thousand years ago. Time is subject to Jesus. Jesus is not subject to time and neither are you, if you believe it.

Let’s move on to the third verse. “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them” Do you realize and know that God lives in you? Are you conscious of that every second of the day? This is not a future tense scripture. God lives in us now. We are the temple of God. We are God’s people now. God is with us now!!!

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:23 KJV

God is with us now and forever through Jesus Christ. You see once again how Jesus is at the center and the reason why God is with us. Lets move on to the fourth verse. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Have you had situations and circumstances where they seem so overwhelming and you did not know how you were going to make it but God came through and fixed it? That is God wiping the tears from your eyes and removing sorrow and pain and even death. The believer has no concern about death any longer. Why? Death has no more dominion over them because they have died already when they were born again.

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Romans 6:3 KJV

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. Romans 6:8-9 KJV

Death has no more dominion over Jesus and you are in Him, so death has no dominion over you. The Word of God says in I John 4:13 that as He (Jesus) is, so are we IN THIS WORLD!!! Not when we get to Heaven. And the remainder of the fourth verse in Revelation 21 says all these things (tears from your eyes, sorrow, pain and death) are gone forever. Learn to see things the way God sees them. How do I know that this is true? Once again the answer is JESUS!!! When Jesus was here on earth, He constantly wiped away tears from peoples eyes by healing the sick, raising the dead, giving back sons to their mothers, daughters to their fathers(Jairus), brothers (Lazurus) to their sister’s(Mary and Martha). When Jesus came in the house and Peter’s mother in law was sick with a fever Jesus laid His hand on her and healed her and she instantly got up and start making dinner. No recovery time, no rest after being sick. She moved from down with a fever to instant health, life and vibrancy. Now lets look at what Jesus said about us in regards to these works He did.

I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. John 14:12 New Living Translation

Now in conjunction with what the verse above just said lets look at the last two verses of our opening text.

5And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” 6And he also said, “It is finished!”

So you have Jesus saying that you will do even greater works than He did after He goes back to The Father. Has Jesus gone back to The Father? YES!! He is seated at the right hand on the throne. And the One on the throne said, not going to say, “Look, (in the King James it says Behold which means look at here), I am making all things new. We are NEW TESTAMENT believers not old testament. Then he says, “Write this down for what I tell you is trustworthy and true. The word is is present tense and the word true in that verse means truth or reality. And if that is not enough he makes it even more clear about all that He has just said in the preceding verses by declaring, “IT IS FINISHED!!!”

Be conscious of this. Believe this. Receive this and you will SEE THIS!!!

All the “blessed” to you!!! Shalom
