Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. 2 Peter 1:12 KJV
Imagine walking up to Abraham as he is on his way to rescue his nephew Lot from the five kings that have just kidnapped him and members of their entire village and saying to him, “Abraham, thou shalt not kill!!”. He would look at you as if you were crazy and if you stood in his way you may get taken out for blocking him from rescuing his family. Now imagine popping up in the Garden of Eden and saying to Adam, “Adam not make sure you don’t tell a lie. Thou shalt not lie or bear false witness.” Again, Adam would look at you with the same look Abraham would. Why? Because you are trying to force on them a future truth that is not in effect for their time. Adam and Abraham were not and are not under law or the ten commandments. They both were under the covenant of grace. The only law that was in effect for Adam was do not eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Eve could have murdered Adam and it would not have been sin because there was no law against murder at that time.
What is my point for bringing up this example. It is to show you a simple but very powerful truth that the entire Body of Christ needs to understand and that is how to walk in present truth. Today many believers and pastors are trying to preach and command people to live by the law, the ten commandments. But the time of the law has passed. It is a past truth that God is no longer having his people live by and under. Don’t take my word for it, take THE WORD for it.
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. Romans 10:4 KJV
If you believe in Christ then you have to agree with THE WORD who is Jesus, who is Christ that Christ is the end of the law. Today you here of all types of ministers and well know preacher speaking of judgement and that the US and other countries and people’s are being judged for their sinful and wrong life. These things are simply not true. Because of Jesus’s sacrifice the sins of every person ever born and who ever will be born are NOW FORGIVEN and covered by HIS BLOOD. The only thing left to do is to receive that forgiveness by accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior. Jesus is the Mediator of the New Covenant, not the Old Covenant, God the Father has some very specific things to say about the New Covenant.
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. Hebrews 8:12 KJV
Romans explains it in greater detail.
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. Romans 6:14 KJV
Grace is the present truth that we are under, not the law. We must learn to walk in present truth and that present truth is GRACE!!!
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. John 1:17 KJV
When Moses and Elijah appeared on the Mount of Transfiguration, God the Father said something very specific. He said, “This is my beloved Son, hear you Him!!” Moses represents the law and Elijah represents the prophet’s. We are not in the time of the law and prophets, that time has passed. Does God still speak through prophets? Yes but His primary way is speaking through The Word by way of the Holy Spirit, Be sure to walk in present truth.
All the ‘blessed’ to you!!! Shalom!
