JUST DA TRUTH – ABOUT BE KIND TO THE UNTHANKFUL

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!  I am sure many of you will all be gathering with family and friends today.  Some of you may even take the time to go around the table and ask  what each person is thankful for.  God the Father really loves it when we are thankful.  It gives him great joy.  But what about the unthankful? How does God the Father feel about them and better still how does he treat these unthankful, ungrateful people?

I am sure the title makes you want to quote Gary Coleman from Different Strokes. “Whatchu talkin’ bout Willis? I know what you mean. But look at this scripture…..

But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for He (God the Father) is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Luke 6:35 King James Version

Wow!!  God is kind to the unthankful and the evil.  The people who blaspheme His Name, say He does not exist, and think His Name is a compound word with damn. God the Father is kind to them. So how are we suppose to be with them?

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; Ephesians 5:1 New American Standard Version

The Father does not want us to be like the world. The world responds to people with the law based thinking and responses. “You treat me bad, I’m gonna treat you bad.” That is the law all day.  But look at The Father.  Now understand, for you The Father does not see your sin, or acting ugly because of Jesus’s Blood.  But for sinners He sees their ugliness and ungratefulness and evil and is still kind to them.  The word kind there is the greek word chréstos.  It means to be useful, pleasant, gentle and kind, one that furnishes what is suitable.  We have a great Father and a great God and a great Lord in Jesus Christ.  Jesus operated and functioned this way and because of it religious people called him a “friend of sinners” in the Bible.  May you have that same title and accusation for the glory of God and the increase of the Kingdom.  Not to go out and be like them but to be a light and win them to Christ.

The Word of God is constantly admonishing us to be good to others whether they are good or evil.  THIS IS GRACE.  God was good to us when we were only evil.  While we were yet sinners He loved us and sent His Son to die for us.  When people treat us good it is very easy to be good and nice to them.  But it takes the love of Christ to be kind and loving and courteous to someone who has mistreated and dogged you.  But we can do all things through Christ which strengthens us.  Jesus would not tell us to do something and not give us the power, strength and will to do it.  I will share a rarely known scripture with you that when I found it I was like, “Who then can be saved?”  But I have kept it in my mind and heart for years and I am getting better and better at it especially since learning about GRACE.

Remind people to be submissive to [their] magistrates and authorities, to be obedient, to be prepared and willing to do any upright and honorable work,

To slander or abuse or speak evil of no one, to avoid being contentious, to be forbearing (yielding, gentle, and conciliatory), and to show unqualified courtesy toward everybody. Titus 3:1-2 Amplified Bible

Man this is a tall order in the natural.  We live in a mostly critical, negative-minded world.  That scripture says to slander or abuse or speak evil of no one.  But the part that punched me in the kidneys was the last part.  To show unqualified courtesy toward everybody.  Yes you read it right, it said EVERYBODY!!!  Do you understand what this means?  This means that the person who does not qualify for courtesy is the person The Word says you are to show courtesy to.  Trying chewing on that this weekend.  The rude person that steps in front of you at the mall.  The car that cuts you off in traffic.  When your husband or wife says something a little edgy, respond with courtesy.  I can tell you I just flunked that test in times past with my wife.  Thank God for His GRACE.

So your challenge is to be kind to the unthankful and the evil and to show unqualified courtesy to EVERYONE.  If you can do it great!! If you miss it, keep meditating that Word and get up and go for it again.  Trust me, unthankful, evil and discourteous people are not going anywhere just yet so you will have plenty of opportunity.  So step up to the challenge!  The key is let Christ do it through you.  His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

All the “blessed” to you!!! Shalom!

JUST DA TRUTH-ABOUT GLORY

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:  John 17:22 King James Version

Have you ever heard a preacher or minister say that, “God gets ALL the GLORY.” Perhaps it was said using scriptures like, “God will not give His Glory to another.”  I am sure you have. These well meaning (in most cases) ministers unfortunately have taken an Old Testament scripture or law and applied it to themselves and you causing you to deny what Jesus Himself said He has given to you. There is a big difference between Old Testament believers and New Testament believers in terms of rights and privileges.  This denial of rights, benefits and inheritance happens in churches all over the world to thousands if not millions of believers.  How does this happen?  By allowing someone other than Jesus to tell you what He is saying to you and has given to you.  As much as I hate to say it in some cases it is a deliberate act in an effort to keep church members in check and from becoming prideful.  But this is not what The Father or Jesus planned for you.   The Word of God tells us what to do to prevent things like this from happening.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  2 Timothy 2;15 King James Version

Notice The Word says “Study to shew yourself approved..”  It did not say let the preacher do your studying for you.  Guess what, preachers are also human beings. They make mistakes.  And when it comes to your life and your family, you do not desire and God does not desire for you to live in years of error because of wrong  doctrine or a misstep by a well intending man or woman of God or the enemy.  I am going to let you in on a secret you may or may not know.  Your Pastor was never designed or intended to be your primary source of receiving and being taught the Word.  No God loves you far too much for that.  That’s why He gave you the Holy Spirit.

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I (JESUS) said to you.” John 14:26  New American Standard Bible

“But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true–it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ”.  I John 2:27 New Living Translation

This by no means is to say we don’t need preachers.  The Word says, “How can they hear without a preacher?”  But The Word  makes it clear that The Holy Spirit is your primary Teacher through and by The Word and what He says is ALWAYS TRUE and IT IS NOT A LIE or  mistake or error.  The Word also instructs us that what He teaches us we are to abide or remain in that Truth with Christ.  Now just so you don’t think I have gotten off my topic of glory, lets look at something.  If God our Father says, “Here I want you to have this and then a man or woman or a preacher says, “No, that is only for God.” Wouldn’t you agree that someone is wrong? Both can’t be right.  And I am here to tell you the wrong party is not God the Father.   By denying the Glory that Jesus died and prayed to the Father to give us, this is part of the reason we do not see a lot of manifestations of the Glory especially here in the U.S.

Imagine having Jesus say, “Here is My Glory, the very same Glory the Father gave to Me, I want you to have it because without it you wont be able to be JUST LIKE ME.  Then the person to whom He offers it to says, “Oh no Lord, thats all for You. I don’t want any of that, thats all Yours Jesus.”  Lets look at the scripture again.  What is the reason Jesus says He is giving us the same glory the Father has given to Him?

“And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:” John 17:22 King James Version

Let’s say I am a billionaire and I have one billion dollars cash and I came to you and said “You know what? I want you to have everything I have, I want us to be ONE”  The only way for us to really be ONE is for me to give you $500 million dollars.  Now I have $500 million and you have $500 million.  I don’t have more than you have, we have the same.  This is what The Father sent Jesus to die for to give us equal standing as a son or daughter of God, not a lesser standing than Jesus but THE SAME!.  God the Father and God the Son and The Holy Spirit are all ONE. Jesus even goes further about the glory and the Oneness.

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.  John 17:23 King James Version

If God does not love you any less than Jesus then why would He give you less than Jesus?  Simple answer is: HE WOULD NOT and HE DID NOT!!!  He loves you the same as Jesus and has made you joint heir. Joint means that you divide the inheritance equally, you both get the same things and same amount. And since your eternal inheritance is yours through the finished work of Christ that means that inheritance is yours RIGHT NOW!!!  A person does not get an inheritance until the person they get it from or through dies.  Jesus has already died(and has been resurrected), so there is no waiting until you get to Glory or Heaven.  The inheritance is yours right here and right now.   So since glory means kavod in Hebrew in the Old Testament which is  weight or to be weighty and doxa in the New Testament which in Greek means honor, renown; glory, an especially divine quality, the unspoken manifestation of God, splendor, you must know you have weight with God and He has crowned you right now with glory, honor and splendor.  So don’t refuse what God through Jesus has freely offered you.  Say, “Lord I receive the glory that you have given me!”,  and watch manifestations of glory begin to become a regular occurrence in your life and family as you do this in faith and trust.  Miracles are a manifestation of God’s glory.  You are a miracle!!!!  Know it and TAKE IT!!!!  The word receive in the Greek is the word lambano.  It means to take.

All the “blessed” to you!!! Shalom!

JUST DA TRUTH – ABOUT TRUST

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  Proverbs 3:5 King James Version

TRUST! It is the foundation of all genuine relationships.  So your relationship with God the Father would be no different.  The above scripture admonishes us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts.  In order to trust someone you have to get to know them.  You have to spend time with them.  Alone time with just you and that person.  This is what happens when we spend time in The Word and prayer  When read The Word, you find out that The Father is really trustworthy.  The word trust is the Hebrew word batach.  It has the indication of boldness, rest, to lie extended on the ground.  It is a reliance upon The Father. He has no plans of letting you go or go down.  When you see how God was faithful in repeated situations in The Word, it encourages your heart and mind because you know he cannot change.  So do yourself a favor, take minute to Thank God.the Father .  You find it pays great benefits when you do!

All the blessed to you! Shalom!!!

JUST DA TRUTH – ABOUT RELYING COMPLETELY ON GRACE

Wherefore, having put out of the way once for all everything that would impede the free action of your mind, be calm and collected in spirit, and set your hope perfectly, wholly, and unchangeably, without doubt and despondency, upon the grace that is being brought to you upon the occasion of the revelation of Jesus Christ  I Peter 1:13 Kenneth Wuest Translation

How were you saved? By GRACE(Jesus)!!!  Why does God bless you?  Because of Grace(Jesus).  What covenant are you under as a New Testament believer, the covenant of Law or the covenant of Grace?  Grace(Jesus is the mediator of the New Covenant).  We are in the dispensation of GRACE.  We are not in the dispensation of judgement.  Regardless of what any man or woman of God says about the time we are in being a time of judgement.  It is simply not true.  Don’t take my word for it, take THE WORD for it.  I know you know John 3:16 but do you know John 3:17.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. John 3:17 NIV

God is in the saving business, not the destruction, sending people to hell business.  As believers we must make sure that just like Jesus, Who is the Spirit of Grace, we are about our Father’s business.  But first we must know what Our Father’s business is.  The scripture says Jesus went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil for God the Father was with Him.  Grace is always looking to extend favor and to be favorable to people.  Grace contains loving kindness and tender mercies.  Grace always does a complete work that includes our total being and lives.

For by the grace have you been saved in time past completely(spirit, soul and body, through faith, with the result that your salvation persists through present time; and this [salvation] is not from you as a source ‘of God it is the gift, not from a source of works, in order that no one might boast  Ephesians 2:8 Kenneth Wuest Translation

Even our salvation is by the Grace of God, not by any work you can do or cannot do.  Grace is unmerited.  It is the plan of God through Christ Jesus to bring about a total and complete dependency on Him just like it was in the beginning in the Garden.  Adam and his wife before they sinned were created, provided for and cared for by God.  They lived by the grace and favor and sovereign will of God.  When the children of Israel came out of Egypt before the law or ten commandments were given, they lived under a covenant of grace.  Totally and completely provided for and protected by God the Father and His grace.  Today, we have a better covenant than they and Peter encourages us in The Word to completely and totally rely on the Grace of God that is being revealed to us through Christ Jesus.

In our opening and chief text Peter encourages us with some very distinct verbs.  He tells us to put our hope perfectly, wholly, and unchangeably, without doubt and despondency upon the Grace that is being brought to you upon the occasion of the revelation of Jesus Christ.  When we try to depend on ourselves and our own efforts we get over into self-righteousness.  Depending on our own obedience instead of Jesus’s perfect obedience will bring you back under the law and therefore will bring you back under the curse of the law.  Let’s look at what Paul said.

For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law(the ten commandments and other laws in the Old Testament), you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace. Galatians 5:4 New Living Translation

You must take the finished work of Christ as complete and total and rest for the REST of your life.  This is how you enter into His Rest. By resting completely in and on His Grace.  Jesus has already done the work.  Your job is to believe what He has done and take His work as your work.  The work of the believer is just that, TO BELIEVE!!!  His Grace has done the rest.

Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the One He has sent.” John 6:29 New Living Translation

All the ‘blessed’ to you!!! Shalom!

JUST DA TRUTH – ABOUT THE WORD OF HIS GRACE

And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified. Acts 20:32 English Standard Version.

GRACE is the Person of Jesus. Grace is extremely important and it is important for you to know why it is important. When Paul was leaving the brethren at the church at Ephesus, he left them with the statement that you see in the above mentioned scripture. The word commend there can be replaced by the word commit. So Paul said, “I commit you to God and The Word of His Grace. He also pointed out two things that The Word of Grace can do.

  • Build you up.
  • Give you an inheritance among those who are sanctified.

The Law does just the opposite. It tears you down with guilt, sin and condemnation. It robs people of their inheritance because when people try to live by the law it brings them back under the curse. Romans 6:14 tells us that sin has no dominion over us because we are not under the law but under grace. Focus on God’s Grace which is and is in Christ Jesus. Don’t try to live by the law because The Word has already made a declaration about the law.

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. Romans 10:4 English Standard Version.

Christ is the end of the law to everyone who believes. Believe in the Grace of God and receive what He has for you.

Have a great weekend!!!

All the Blessed to you!!! Shalom!
