JUST DA TRUTH – ABOUT THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE Part 2

…for the law of the Spirit, that of the life in Christ Jesus, freed you once for all from the law of the sinful nature and of death. Romans 8:2

We talked previously about laws and righteousness and how they are related. We also talked about what the word law means in the above scripture.  The word law there in that scripture is the Greek word nomos. It has various meanings but the meaning we are interested in is: a law or rule producing a state approved of God.  People for the most part know more about the geographic ‘state’ that they live in than they do the state of their own lives.  As a believer you cannot afford to not know the state you are in as a result of Jesus becoming your Lord and Saviour.  Your knowledge of that state can be the difference between life and death, blessing and cursing, abundance and lack.  Pay close attention to the word state as used in the following two scripture verses.

…by grace have you been saved completely in past time, with the present result that you are in a state of salvation which persists through present time, Ephesians 2:5 Kenneth Wuest Translation

For by the grace have you been saved in time past completely, through faith, with the result that your salvation persists through present time; and this [salvation] is not from you as a source ‘of God it is the gift, Ephesians 2:8 Kenneth Wuest Translation

I want you to pay attention to two things here. First of all the Holy Ghost had the Apostle Paul say the same thing two times in one chapter just a few verses apart. That means pay attention.  Secondly, both scriptures say that you have been saved completely in past time with the present result that you are in a “state” of salvation that persist thru present time.   This is a powerful and pregnant statement that you need to spend some time chewing on. IT WILL CHANGE YOUR MIND and YOUR LIFE if you take the time to understand whats being said.  To help you understand we need to define the words saved and the word salvation.

saved:  sózó: to save
Original Word: σῴζω
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: sózó
Phonetic Spelling: (sode’-zo)
Short Definition: I save, heal
Definition: I save, heal, preserve, rescue.

One of the commentaries makes an interesting observance. It says, “by grace ye are saved– Greek, “Ye are in a saved state.” Not merely “ye are being saved,” but ye “are passed from death unto life” (Joh 5:24).

Now lets look at the word salvation:  it means and includes welfare, prosperity, deliverance, preservation, salvation, safety.

The same commentary by Jameison Fassuet and Brown says, “Salvation is to the Christian not a thing to be waited for hereafter (Heaven), but already realized (1Jo 3:14)”

So when you look at this scripture in context and definition this is how you should see it.

…by grace have you been saved, healed, preserved and rescued completely in past time, with the present result that you are in a state of welfare, prosperity, deliverance, preservation, salvation and safety which persists through present time, Ephesians 2:5 Kenneth Wuest Translation

Regardless of what your life looks like what that verse says IS THE STATE that you are in.  Too many believers think they are trying to get healed and prosperous when The Word of God declares they are already in a healed and prosperous and delivered state.  Take the time to become fully persuaded about this. IT WIL CHANGE YOUR MIND & LIFE.

All the ‘blessed’ to you. Shalom!!!
