For all The Fullness of The Deity dwells in him bodily. And you also are completed in him, who is The Head of all Principalities and Powers  Colossians 2:9-10 Aramaic Bible in Plain English

Have you ever heard or said, “Well, nobody’s perfect!”  Sure you have, we have all said it probably at one time or another.  But let’s see what God’s Word says about it because that is the thing that matters.

The LORD will perfect [that which] concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, [endureth] for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands. Psalm 138:8 KJV

The word perfect in that verse is the Hebrew word gamar.  It means to end, come to an end or complete.

Since the law has only a shadow of the good things to come, and not the actual form of those realities, it can never perfect the worshipers by the same sacrifices they continually offer year after year. Hebrews 10:1 Holman Christian Standard Bible

The word perfect in the above verse is the greek word teleioo.  Very similar to the Hebrew word gamar.  Teleioo means to  to bring to an end, to complete, perfect, to consummate, bring to its end stage.  The verse shows the greatness of the New Testament versus the Old as it says that the law could never perfect the worshippers(you) because it was just a shadow.

For he found fault with them, and he said, “Behold, the days are coming, says THE LORD JEHOVAH, and I will perfect a New Covenant for the family of the house of Israel and for the family of the house of Judah.” Hebrews 8:8 Aramaic Bible in Plain English

We are of the house of Judah just as Jesus was and it is through Him that we are of that house.  We are also spiritual Israel.  The Lord Himself here says the New Covenant will be perfect and it is.  He never said that of the Old covenant.  So what we have is a multiplicity of scriptures that talk about us being or becoming complete or perfect.  How is that?  Because the New Covenant is all about and all for US.  So what does this have to do with you with all your apparent faults and mistakes and missteps?  EVERYTHING!!!  Because you are in Him, in Christ Jesus, The Word says YOU ARE COMPLETE IN HIM. Not that you are going to be but you are.  The law could never make you perfect but Jesus Who is GRACE and TRUTH has made you perfect in and through Himself.  It’s not based on what you done or have not done.  Look at this scripture

In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what He suffered  Hebrews 2:10 New International Version

God the Father made Jesus the man PERFECT through what “HE” suffered.  Not what you suffer.  You have no business suffering because He already suffered for you.  If we all were going to suffer, then Jesus could have stayed at home, saved Himself the beating, the spit, the crown of thorns and everything else.  Because Jesus was made perfect and you are in Him YOU ARE PERFECT!!!!

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world. I John 4:17 KJV

By this Love(God the Father) is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment, because just as Jesus is, so also are we in this world. I John 4:17 NET Bible

So our love is even made perfect through Jesus.  Our perfection is in Christ not in ourselves. So if Jesus says you are perfect, who are you going to believe? Are you going to believe Him, the world or yourself?

All the ‘blessed’ to you!!! Shalom!

  1. Vincent, this certainly is food for thought. And how wonderful to meditate on into understanding. Jesus came for those who make mistakes, big and small ones, offering us his peace and security in the Father, and I wouldn’t turn my back on that. Sometimes it’s hard to comprehend, but I think that’s where self forgiveness comes into play.

Oh, we recently “met” on the KCM community site. I thought I’d check out your blog. Very well done!

    • Marianne,

You are so right! Just as you forgive others you are a person too. Forgive yourself. The word sin is the greek words harmartia and it simply means to miss the mark. Whatever you had done Jesus has already forgive ALL your sins, past present and future. This is hard to believe but do you realize that you were not alive when Jesus dies so all your sins were future sins that he covered. You are bless and have NO MORE CONSCIOUSNESS OF SINS!!! Walk in His perfection which is your perfection! All the blessed to you. SHALOM!!!

  2. Hello, good morning for some reason the KCM net work wont let me on any more. Also I need some wisdom in helping a Jewish lady she is severely handi-capped no legs head injury can talk and reason pretty good, I prayed for her complete healing and restoration so I believe she is healed in the meantime been helping her out with life, daily problems her trash problem, and her yard work, etc. Her name in Ginny Wolpin 51 yrs. old it seems her father has given up on things, she had a bad auto accident in 95. If you could see her much compassion would rise inside your spirit and you would want to help her as well. So I need some wisdom and more strength from the Lord so her healing will manifest faster. Thanks paulthieman@aol.com.
