JUST DA TRUTH-ABOUT THE CROSS

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.  I Corinthians 1:18 New International Version

Today, before we get into our meal, I want to share something with you that is very important for you to know as a believer.  If you are an unbeliever it will benefit you as well.  Please know that pastors, preachers and teachers of God’s Word are important.  However, what is of more importance is that they stick with and teach you The Word.  Their job is to teach people what God says in The Bible and not add their own opinion to it and their own so called revelation that is not supported by The Word of God.  If a so called man or woman of God tries to teach or tell you something that has no scriptural basis or is contrary to what God’s Word says, you are under no obligation to listen to them or do what they say. And please do not fear them.  Understand something, God’s Word says that He has not given you a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind.  God is not double minded.  He will not tell you that He has not given you the spirit of fear then use a message to put you in fear.

Always remember this: NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LORD AND NOBODY IS ABOVE THE WORD!!!! I don’t care what their title is whether it be Pastor, Prophet, Apostle or whatever.  God is no respecter of persons.  Some of these pastors, prophets, or so called apostles are self named.  They gave themselves their titles.  I personally heard one preacher tell a congregation, “I made my self bishop.”

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit(person), but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. I John 4:1  New International Version

Now I heard, personally this same preacher say to a congregation, “You don’t need to try me, I already been tried.”

I John chapter 4 says to not believe every spirit but to test or try the spirit to see if it is of God.  This preacher says you don’t need to try him because he’s already been tried.  To give ear to what this preacher has just said is the modern day equivalent of God saying, “The day you eat of this tree you shall surely die”  and the serpent coming along and telling Mrs Adam, “You shall not surely die.”  It’s the same thing and it comes from the same spirit, the devil.  Always stick with The Word.  The goal here is not to be critical but to provide an example of the types of statements that are subtle but contrary to The Word of God.

Now, lets talk about THE CROSS.

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. I Corinthians 1:18 New International Version

So The Word of God says that the message of the cross IS the power of God.

For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel–not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. I Corinthians 1:17 New International Version

In this verse The Word of God says that if the gospel is not preached in its simplicity, the cross of Christ would be emptied of its power.  Would you agree that in order for something to be emptied of its power it would have to have power first?

And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. Colossians 2:15 New International Version

The cross is the means by which Jesus triumphed over powers and authorities and made a public spectacle of them. The Bible calls them powers and authorities.  When something has power the only thing that can overcome it is something that is more powerful.  Obviously what God did by the cross is more powerful than the powers and authorities that were trying to come against Jesus.

What God did thru Christ by means of the cross is powerful.  The entire process God used is powerful and we are to appreciate it.  God did not use the cross against us, He used the cross for us.  All things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are the called according to His purpose.  Always stick with God’s Word which is Jesus!!!  Anything else is a path to error. God loves us, and the cross was a means to an end for us and that end was for our good and the good of the entire human race.

JUST DA TRUTH – ABOUT HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN __________?

“By grace have you been saved completely in past time, with the present result that you are in a state of salvation which persists through present time.”  Ephesians 2:5  Kenneth Wuest Translation

I want to ask you a few questions.  Do you know how long you have been saved?  Do you know how long you have been healed?  Do you know how long you have been rich?  Do you know how long you have been preserved?  I could go on and on but lets just start with these few questions.  Now some of you may have been born in 1968 and you may say well I have been saved for 23 years.  Others of you may say, “I have never been rich!!”.  Still others may say, “Well I have been diagnosed with a certain condition so I am waiting on my healing.” Well I have some good news for you, you would all be wrong.  When I ask how long, I mean how long in God the Father’s and Jesus’s eyes.  How does the Father see this thing.  Well let’s look at His Word and find out.

For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless (perfect, sound) in His sight. In love. Ephesians 1:4 NIV

You were chosen in Him, Jesus, before the creation of the world.  Before sin, debt, lack or disease EVER EXISTED.   In God’s eyes you were saved at that time, before the creation of the world.  The world has been around a longtime.  So have you.  You did not exist in the form you are presently but you have been very much alive.  As alive as Jesus.    Our text scripture shares some very interesting truths.  It states that by grace, God’s unmerited and undeserved favor you HAVE BEEN saved COMPLETELY, that means spirit, soul and body because that makes up the complete you. And that all this was done in PAST TIME which confirms Ephesians 1:4.  That past time IS before the creation of the world.  The word saved in Ephesians 2:5 is the greek word sozo and it means  I save, heal, preserve, rescue.  Now the remainder of the scripture brings things to where we are today.  It states that you have been saved completely with the PRESENT RESULT that you ARE IN A STATE OF SALVATION that persist through PRESENT TIME.   That means by grace you have been saved, heal, preserved and rescued before the foundation of the world and that that saving has the present result that it put you in a state of salvation that persist through present time which is now and forever more.  So let’s answer those questions.

How long have you been saved?  As long as you have been in Jesus and at least since before the foundation of the world.

How long have you been healed?  As long as you have been in Jesus and at least since before the foundation of the world.

How long have you been rich?  As long as you have been in Jesus and at least since before the foundation of the world.

Understand something.  I don’t care if you have snot dripping out of your nose and you are coughing like you smoke a pack of cigarettes a day.  That does not change the truth that YOU ARE HEALED!!! It does not change the truth that you are IN A STATE OF SALVATION that persist through present time.  I am originally from the state of Michigan but now I live in the state  Ohio.  I am in the state of  Ohio now.  I cannot be in the state of Michigan and the state of Ohio at the same time.  You cannot be in the state of danger and the state of salvation at the same time.  YOU ARE IN A STATE OF SALVATION that persist.  This is all by grace and not by any works that you have or have not done.  Make sure you believe and KNOW that.  The truth does not make you free, it’s the truth that you know that makes you free.

All the ‘blessed’ to you!!! Shalom!

JUST DA TRUTH – ABOUT NO CONDEMNATION

Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1  New American Standard Bible
As a believer,  have you ever had a thought from something you did in the past that tried to ride your mind or just bug you.  Perhaps with the nagging thought, “Remember what you did?  You know that was not right!”  It could be something from a very recent incident, perhaps just a few moments ago.  Those are thoughts of condemnation and they are not from God the Father or Jesus or The Holy Ghost.  Those thoughts are from the devil.  Do you know who else had to deal with such thoughts?  The Apostle Paul.  Before Paul was Paul he was Saul and guess what his job was?  Persecuting and murdering or overseeing the murder of Christians!!!  Because of Jesus and His Grace, Saul became Paul and Paul went on to write over 3/4 of the New Testament.   But do you know Paul still had to deal with those thoughts especially at the beginning of his conversion.

Not only did he have his own thoughts to deal with, but I am sure that many people brought up constant reminders of what he used to do.  Paul had to overcome those things and by the grace of God he did.  Paul talked about those things.

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead. Phillipians 3:13 English Standard Version

The word condemnation is the greek word katakrima. Katakrima means the exact sentence of condemnation handed down after the due process of establishing guilt.  So in order for condemnation to work the enemy has to convince you that you are guilty.  But you are not guilty YOU ARE RIGHTEOUS!!!  Jesus took all your guilt, sin and shame on and in His person at the Cross.  Condemnation also means the punishment for after guilt has been established.  Jesus took all our punishment.

4Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;
it was our sorrows that weighed him down.
And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God,
a punishment for his own sins!
5But he was pierced for our rebellion,
crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.
6All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.
We have left God’s paths to follow our own.
Yet the LORD laid on him
the sins of us all.

Isaiah 53:4-6 New Living Translation

Since Jesus took our punishment, you cannot be punished or condemned because the same crime cannot be tried twice.  So  never allow the enemy to condemn you with anything because all your sins have been covered by The Blood of Jesus.

All the “blessed” to you!!! Shalom!
