“As soon as Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the heavens breaking open and the Spirit descending on Him like a dove. 11And a voice came from heaven: “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”   Mark 1:11 Berea Study Bible

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!! And it is a Merry Christmas indeed all because of God the Father and The Lord Jesus Christ Who was born, lived and died and was resurrected for the sins of entire world.  In the fictional story or song of the Little Drummer Boy, the boy desires to give a gift to Jesus (but he has none)  and to  honor Jesus and play his best for Jesus and in his sincerity and out of his lack he offers what he does have: to play his drum for Jesus.  In the song, only after his performance on the drum does he finally get Jesus’s smile as the little drummer boy says, “THEN he smiled at me.”  It all sounds very honorable and in a way it is but in many ways this is why and how believers struggle today.  They are so busy working for Jesus and trying to do things for Jesus that they have never truly taken the time to just sit and receive ALL that He has done for them. They are like Martha so enamored with doing things for the Lord instead of receiving the Lord in all of His fullness and beauty.  And as a result they wind up praying for  Jesus to do things that He has already done or given them but they never took the time to find out what was already given to them in Him.  One of the great things about Jesus’s life and God the Father is that in the above verse, God the Father proclaimed that Jesus was His Beloved Son and that He was well pleased with Him.  Why is this important?  Because Jesus had not yet did one work, or miracle or anything!! He had just come up out of the water from being baptized.  This is a picture  and a sign for us today that God the Father is not loving us or pleased with us based on our works, performance or lack thereof.  He just smiles and loves us and blesses us before we ever did anything and He sent His Son to redeem us when we could do nothing.  Look at this scripture.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms. 4For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His presence. In love Ephesians 1:3-4 Berean Study Bible

You see how He choose us in Him(Jesus) before the foundation of the world to be holy blamesless in His presence in LOVE!!!  Beloved this Christmas know that you have already received God’s smile  and all His blessings before you do one work or performance.  He did what He did because He loves you and you cannot really do anything or give anything to Him until you have received from Him.  I pray you receive ALL of the gift that and Who is Jesus! Amen!

Merry Christmas and Shalom to you in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ!

All the blessed to you!!!

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us [our] sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I John 1:9 Darby Translation

Once again here we are talking about the grand topic of RIGHTEOUSNESS. It is grand indeed as the Lord Jesus told us to seek it first and then everything else would be added to us. This passage of scripture is a blessing. It is also a means of controversy because of the first part. Some people say you have to confess every single sin you ever commit. Some people say no when you confess that you are a sinner and receive Jesus that is all that is necessary. I am not going to get into a debate about that today because that is not our focus. I will share with you what the scripture says ensures your salvation.

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 New Living Translation

The same Holy Ghost who had John write I John is the same Holy Ghost that spoke to Paul in Romans. Yet no mention of confessing of sins is in this verse in Romans 10:9. Interesting indeed. By acknowledging Jesus as Lord and that God raised Him from the dead something obviously is done in that transaction.

But I want you to focus on the truth that when you confess Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, this is an acknowledgement of what Jesus did and that you needed a Lord and you are also acknowledging the reason Jesus died and was resurrected. Jesus died for our sins. This acceptance of Jesus as resurrected Lord is a confession and as a result, He is faithful and righteous to cleanse you from ALL unrighteousness or you can say He is faithful and righteous to make you righteous just like Him. Did Jesus ever confess to being a sinner? No. But yet He took all of our sins which by that ‘act‘ placed Him with us as a sinner and God treated Him as such on the cross because He took our sins by faith just as if He had committed them all.

And he took all of our sins and lifted them in His body to the cross, for as we are dead to sin, we shall live in His righteousness, for by His scars you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:24 Aramaic Bible in Plain English

Jesus took our punishment for sin which is rebellion against the will of God the Father and gave us His righteousness which is simply submission to the will of God. Sin simply means missing the mark. Righteousness is what is right from God’s viewpoint. Sickness is sin. Health IS His righteousness. Poverty is sin. Abundance is His righteousness. Why? Because that is what God and Jesus have. God and Jesus are not broke or in lack. They live in opulent abundance. Some Christians believe that it is holy or righteous to be broke. Nothing could be further from the truth. Poverty is sin. Not having enough is sin therefore it is unrighteousness. The Father sent Jesus so He could give us back everything Adam lost and more. God has and is righteous and that righteousness now BELONGS to us because of Jesus. Anything contrary to what God has or is is unrighteousness. What does The Word say about unrighteousness.

Neither yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. Romans 6:13 KJV

The Word yield means to allow, to give place. If you are born again, you are dead to sin and alive to Christ and His Righteousness. Romans 6:14 says, “Sin shall not which means, it does not have dominion or rulership or authority over you.” Why? Because you are not under the law but under grace, God’s unmerited, undeserved favor given to us in and through Christ Jesus. We are free from sin.

Through Him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses. Acts 13:39 NIV

Do you see it? Sickness is sin. Health is righteousness or right. Poverty and lack is sin. Abundance and being RICH IS RIGHTEOUSNESS. You don’t have to seek to be rich, rich comes with the righteousness. You don’t have to seek health, health comes with the righteousness. This is why Jesus told us to seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness. Jesus’s Blood has cleansed you and me and everyone who accepts Him from ALL unrighteousness. If you believe that then since you are cleansed the only thing left is RIGHTEOUSNESS!!! You simply have to know it and believe it and receive it and it is your and IT WILL BE MADE MANIFEST. But it’s not there just when you see it. It’s there and yours RIGHT NOW!!!! TAKE IT!!!

All the ‘blessed’ to you!!! Shalom!

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.  Romans 5:5 King James Version

“I love you!!!  I just love her, don’t you? You know I love you don’t you? Girl, you know I love you!!!”

All of us have heard these lines either from ourselves, other people or in movies or on television.  But does the person truly mean it?  This questions I believe bothers many people each day.  I know myself sometimes when I tell my wife, “I love you!” Most of the time she simply responds, “I love you too!”  But sometimes especially if we are face to face she will stop the conversation and say, “Yes but why do you love me?”  I have a very simple answer for her.  “I love you because I love you!”  This is the God kind of Love. Its not based on you cooked me dinner, sex was great last night or this morning, or any other external thing.  I just love you because I love you.  God loves this way and although we have to learn how to walk in that kind of love, for those of of us who are believers God did something great.  “He put that kind of love inside us as soon as we believed and accepted His Son Jesus!!!

Now I want you to pay close, close attention to what I am about to say because it can appears like God was acting like a regular human being.  It may sound like God said, “Okay you accept My Son and I will give you My Love.”  No, no that’s not what God did or what God does.   The next verse explains how God loved us.

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 New International Version

So God did not wait for you to accept Him before He loved you.  He proved His love while we were yet sinners, doing whatever we wanted without any regard for Him or His Son He sent His Son to die for us so that we could have His Life and His Love.  God LOVES!!!  It is Who He is!!  He cannot help but LOVE.  He does not know how to not LOVE because Love is a part of Him it is Who He is and What He is.  There are different types of love but the one I want to focus on today is the God kind of Love called in the greek agape.  Agape is love that causes a person to do what God prefers.  This agape is what guides the actions and thoughts of God the Father Himself.  And you know what? It only results in what is good for you and your family.  The lie that God is evil and  He will send a tornado to smash your house down if you keep doing something wrong is a lie purported by the devil and some well meaning preachers to use fear to control peoples lives.  Always remember this:  God is not a schizophrenic.  He doesn’t think, “Oh I love you you are so good because you been good for the past two days.  Then when you do something wrong He changes His mind and goes, “I hate you and I am going to kill you….. and your family.”  No that would be the devil and his bunch and whomever allows him to use them and unfortunately sometimes it’s ministers, or Pastors or TV evangelist.  I almost hate to bring this up but I have to because it happens so much still.  I pray to God that it would stop.  I have to bring it up because it’s Da Truth.

It’s very confusing to people especially people who do not attend church regularly and even for some who do attend church to hear from one preacher, “God is mad at the wicked everyday and thats why He’s prepared hell for you.”  Then to hear from another preacher, “God loves you and He is not mad at you.  He simply desires for you to come to Him and accept His Son so you can live your best life.”  That makes a person think, “The people who claim to know Him cannot agree on Who and how God is so how can I be sure.”  I will tell you how.  Pick up the Bible and read the famous scripture John 3:16 and if you believe nothing else believe that and stay there and I guarantee your knowledge of God and Christ will grow just from that one scripture alone.  Why? Because its the basis for EVERYTHING God The Father has done.

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”  John 3:16 New Living Translation

Perhaps you have children, and if you don’t just imagine this.  Would you give up your only child to die to save people you don’t even know?  Most if not all people would not.  Why because our natural tendency and nature is selfish and we love our children.  Make no mistake God the Father loves Jesus!!!!!  And you must understand, He loves you as well and was willing  to make the sacrifice so He can have not just Jesus but YOU TOO!!!  THAT’S BIG!!!  I SAID THAT’S BIG!!!!  And on top of that Jesus loves you. Please make no mistake this was not a forced deal where Jesus had to come and die for us and He had no choice in the matter.  No, no, no. Jesus agreed to die!! He and the Father had a conversation and He agreed to do this because He and the Father are ONE(there goes that Oneness again).  God loves you and so does Jesus.  Look at what Jesus said about this assignment from His Father.

5That is why, when Christ came into the world, he said to God,

“You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings.
But you have given me a body to offer.
6You were not pleased with burnt offerings
or other offerings for sin.
7Then I said, ‘Look, I have come to do your will, O God—
as is written about me in the Scriptures.’”  Hebrew 10: 5-7 New Living Translation

Now lets look at what happened as a result of Christ agreeing and actually carrying out God’s will.

8First, Christ said, “You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings or burnt offerings or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them” (though they are required by the law of Moses). 9Then he said, “Look, I have come to do your will.” He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect. 10For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.  Hebrews 10: 8-10 New Living Translation

So you can see this was all about LOVE.  No one loves to die, especially by crucifixion after being beaten, tortured, spit on and whipped for hours.  No one loves that.  But do you realize that the beatings and torture and lashings were not Jesus’s primary concern after He accepted the assignment of being your Redeemer?  Oh again, THIS IS BIG!!! No the BIG DEAL for Jesus was He had NEVER EVER NOT ONE TIME IN ALL ETERNITY been separated from The Father not even for a second.  And He knew that for a period of time while He took ALL the sins of every person who had ever existed and will ever exist upon HImself He would be separated from The Father at that time and the thought and realization of it literally almost oppressed Him to death.  I never use that word, “to death” because its a horrible negative confession but in this case it is DA TRUTH.   Here is what Jesus Himself said.

So he told them, “I’m deeply grieved, even to the point of death. Wait here and stay awake.”  Mark 14:34 International Standard Version.

So we talked about the Love of The Father but now look at the Love of Jesus(which is the Love of The Father).  Jesus loved you enough to become sin for you AND to be separated from The Father just like YOU WERE even though He hated it. But as I Corinthians 13 points out “Love does not insists on its own rights or its own way for it it not self seeking.”  So how do we make this simple? Love is about commitment!  God the Father and Jesus committed themselves with The Holy Spirit to save us and no matter what it took they paid the price to see to it that it happened.  Can you imagine what that kind of love, that kind of commitment and total unselfishness can do to this world.  Do you know how the divorce, murder and crime rate would drop?

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Romans 5:5 King James Version

Well His Word says that kind of love is IN YOU!!!!  You simply have to believe it and act on it.  If God said that His Love has been shed abroad in your heart then say, “I believe the Love!!!” And since it was by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us say, “Holy Ghost teach me how to walk in this love!!!”  If you do you will never be the same again or live the same life again. Only believe!!!

All the “blessed” to you!!! Shalom!
