But, as for you, divinely loved ones, building yourselves up constantly in the sphere of and by means of your most holy Faith, and as constantly praying in the sphere of and by means of the Holy Spirit, with watchful care keep yourselves within the sphere of God’s love, expectantly looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ resulting in life eternal. Jude 1:20 Kenneth Wuest Translation
Praying in the Spirit is so beneficial and vital especially with the world we live in. The world has always been dangerous but because of The Father’s Grace, we do not know how many things that Poppa has actually covered and kept us from that we are unaware of. The old time saints said, “He kept me from danger seen and unseen.” Psalms 91 talks about this as well.
Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
7Though a thousand fall at your side,
though ten thousand are dying around you,
these evils will not touch you. Psalms 91:6-7 New Living Translation
What are diseases that stalk in darkness? Viruses, germs, microbes so small you cannot see them so they may as well be in the dark. That verse tells you do not dread bird flu, AID’s and Zika virus. It also says don’t dread school shootings and terrorist attacks that strike suddenly in the midday. Verse 7 says that a thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand but these evils will not touch you. The key is do you believe it and do you believe it enough to say it? Some believers will not say such things even though the Word says it. Why? They are afraid the the devil may hear then come and test or attack them with that. It’s true!! I remember Brother Hagin, a man of God dear to my heart and many was ministering and he was talking about not being sick. He said, “I have not been sick in such and such many years and I am not going to be sick.” Well some preachers came up to him after service and told him, “Brother Hagin! You shouldn’t say that. The devil may hear you and take you up on that challenge.” Brother Hagin said, “I said it so he could hear me.” In other words he was saying I ain’t afraid of the devil. Where did he get such boldness. I believe he got it because he knew The Word of God and he was well known for praying in the Spirit for extended periods of time. Brother Hagin always put The Word first.
Brother Hagin also knew he was the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. He was established in righteousness. What does that do for you?
In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee. Isaiah 54:14 KJV
The end of that verse sounds a whole lot like the end of Psalms 91:7 doesn’t it? Spending time in prayer and especially prayer in the Spirit has inexhaustible benefits for you personally and the Body of Christ and even the world. Remember God so loved the world not hated the world. God is concerned about every person He has created and you should be concerned as well. Now do you know every person on the planet? No, of course not. But in the Spirit, by praying you can cover them in prayer. Think about that. We will continue this tomorrow.
All the blessed to you! Shalom!!!
