JUST DA TRUTH – ABOUT NOW “IS NOT” THE TIME OF JUDGEMENT, IT’S THE TIME OF GRACE!!!

16Then Jesus came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. As usual he went into the synagogue on the day of worship. He stood up to read the lesson. 17The attendant gave him the book of the prophet Isaiah. He opened it and found the place where it read:

18″The Spirit of the Lord is with me. He has anointed me to tell the Good News to the poor. He has sent me to announce forgiveness to the prisoners of sin and the restoring of sight to the blind, to forgive those who have been shattered by sin,

19to announce the year of the Lord’s favor.” 20Jesus closed the book, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. Everyone in the synagogue watched him closely. 21Then he said to them, “This passage came true today when you heard me read it.”  Luke 4:16-21 God’s Word Translation

Grace and Truth and Jesus are ONE!!!  The book of John 1:14 declares that Jesus is FULL of GRACE and TRUTH.  If you study it out you will find the word and there between grace and truth is in the singular tense. Tense is important. Since ‘and’ there is in the singular tense this makes GRACE and TRUTH ONE!  Jesus is full of GRACE and TRUTH, not judgment.  From many places today we hear believers and preachers declare judgement on people and on whole nations. You hear, “God’s gonna judge America!  or some preachers tell believers in their sermon, “If you don’t do right God’s gonna judge you!!!”  God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit are ONE!  Let’s see what Jesus had to say about judgment.

“If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.  There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day.   John 12:47-48 NIV

Here is another scripture from Jesus Himself in multiple versions in John 7:24

King James Bible
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Holman Christian Standard Bible
Stop judging according to outward appearances; rather judge according to righteous judgment.”

International Standard Version
Stop judging by appearances, but judge with righteous judgment!”

Aramaic Bible in Plain English                                                                                                                             “Do not judge with partiality, but judge just judgment.”

So Jesus Himself says that if anyone hears His Word but does not keep or believe them, Jesus says HE DOES NOT JUDGE THAT PERSON.  “Yes but Brother Vincent the next verse says the words Jesus spoke will condemn of judge them!!!”  True, but WHEN did Jesus say His Words would condemn or judge them?  At THE LAST DAY!! The last day is after Jesus returns to take us back with Him to Heaven and then The Great Tribulation begins.  We won’t be around during judgment time as believers.  We will only watch from Heaven.  But as for right now Jesus is not judging anyone except the devil who has already been judged.  Jesus states this in John 16:11. Look at what He says here in that verse.

New International Version
and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.

New Living Translation
Judgment will come because the ruler of this world has already been judged.

So judgement will come but it has not come yet, but the ruler of this world (the devil) he has already been judged not people.

This is why our topic scripture is so  important. Lets look at it again.

Now I want you to pay close attention here because I am going to show you something that proves we are not in the day of judgement. This scripture that Jesus read is from the book of Isaiah.  But did you know that is not the complete verse?  Jesus cut off the scripture and did not finish it on purpose and deliberately closed the book the scripture says. Lets look at the whole scripture.

1The Spirit of the Almighty LORD is with me because the LORD has anointed me to deliver good news to humble people. He has sent me to heal those who are brokenhearted, to announce that captives will be set free and prisoners will be released.

2[He has sent me] to announce the year of the LORD’s good will and the day of our God’s vengeance, to comfort all those who grieve.  Isaiah 61:1 God’s Word Translation

So the next portion of that scripture talks about announcing the day our God’s vengeance or judgement.  Hmm, how come Jesus stopped before he got to that part?  Why did He close the book right after He declared the acceptable year of the Lord which translated means the time of God’s favor and favor is translated there goodwill, not judgement.  Because we are not in the time of judgement but GRACE Who is Jesus.  In the New Testament when Jesus read that scripture, in the Greek it means to proclaim the dektos year of the Lord. Dektos in the greek means the accepted and acceptable year of the Lord. The time when God’s favors PROFUSELY abound. Then Jesus said, “This passage came true today when you heard Me read it.”  He declared it as manifested based on what He read and said. I don’t know about you but accepted and acceptable does not sound like judgement.  Am I saying people can just do what they want and there is no sin? NO!!! There is sin but Jesus has borne ALL people’s sin and is now looking for them to “accept” Him. God is not on a sin hunt, He is looking to be accepted.  This is GRACE!  We are in a time of GRACE where God is extending His GRACE Who is Jesus to ALL!!! Regardless of what they are doing. He is not focused on what people are doing, He is focused on what He has DONE!!!

As believers we must realize and understand the ONLY reason we are righteous is because God credited us with Jesus’s righteousness because you accepted the gift of His Son.  We must be sure to minister that same GRACE to everyone we see so that they will be open to and accept the gift Who is Jesus!

All the blessed to you!!! Shalom!
