2 Corinthians 5:19-21J.B. Phillips New Testament (PHILLIPS)

16-21 This means that our knowledge of men can no longer be based on their outward lives (indeed, even though we knew Christ as a man we do not know him like that any longer). For if a man is in Christ he becomes a new person altogether—the past is finished and gone, everything has become fresh and new. All this is God’s doing, for he has reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ; and he has made us agents of the reconciliation. God was in Christ personally reconciling the world to himself—not counting their sins against them—and has commissioned us with the message of reconciliation. We are now Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were appealing direct to you through us. As his personal representatives we say, “Make your peace with God.” For God caused Christ, Who himself knew nothing of sin, actually to be sin for our sakes, so that in Christ we might be made good with the goodness of God.

WOW! WOW! WOW!! These verses are a message in and of themselves full and pregnant with the vibrant love, power, favor, joy and shalom peace of God the Father and Jesus!!! It tell us that are human knowledge of men can no longer be based on their outward lives, their naturalness and natural human tendencies.   If a person is a believer, they ARE a new creation, not going to be THEY ARE AT THIS PRESENT MOMENT a new creation. Their past if finished and gone, EVERYTHING has become fresh and new in quality.

You have to take a few days and chew on that because it is a spiritual steak and you cannot just put steak in your mouth and swallow it whole without chewing to digest it properly.  The next part of these verses are ones that are precious to me and should be to you and give you a sense of the fact and truth that YOU HAVE A FATHER WHO LOVES YOU!!!  Let’s look at verse 19.

2 Corinthians 5:19Amplified Bible (AMP)

19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting people’s sins against them [but canceling them]. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation [that is, restoration to favor with God].

Do you see what that verse said? It says, THAT IT WAS POPPA GOD the whole time IN CHRIST reconciling the world to and for Himself!!!  That means that Jesus was the instrument which God the Father used but really in essence it was God Himself, Our Father Who was in Jesus reconciling the world to Himself.  The next part is key for believers today.  It says Poppa was NOT COUNTING PEOPLE’S SINS AGAINST THEM, BUT CANCELLING THEM!!! Oh  His Goodness!!!  Its not my goodness it’s HIS GOODNESS!!  God the Father today IS NOT counting people’s sins against them. Make sure you are not as well if you are a believer. “Well Brother Vincent what am I suppose to tell sinners?”  The next verse tells you your job.

And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation [that is, restoration to favor with God]. 2 Corinthians 5:19 AMP

So people have been restored to favor with God thru Jesus Christ. FAVOR not condemnation. Verse 20 goes on to say that we are NOW Christ ambassadors or agents of reconciliation and people should be able to receive from us exactly what God planned for them: FAVOR and ACCEPTANCE and ushering them into receiving Christ and being reconciled to God. Made right with God because God made Jesus Who  knew no sin, did no sin, and in Him was no sin to BE SIN FOR US. So that we might be made by faith THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS!!!

THAT,…… IS POWERFUL and it belongs to every person who will believe it and receive it.  If you are a believer you are an agent of reconciliation. If you are not yet a believer call on the name of Jesus now and become one and then be an agent and recruit other agents to join you. Amen!!! Amen!!! and Amen!!!

All the blessed to you!!! Shalom!
