So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.  2 Corinthians 4:18 New International Version

If  you ever had a “symptom” of something, I want you to pay close attention to your mind when it happens.  Does your mind immediately go to “By Jesus stripe, I were healed!” or do you ask, “Oh man, I wonder what this is?”   The truth is it does not matter what it is.  If it is a thought or a reasoning or something that is trying to exalt itself against the knowledge of God that is really all you need to know.  Just understand that if you are a believer and a symptom of any kind shows up, whether it be in your physical body, your finances or your marriage the purpose of that thing is to lie to you and get you to agree with what you are feeling or even seeing instead of what The Word says about it.

The Word of God says in I Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wound you have been healed.”  If a cold or cold symptom show up, understand that’s a lie and it is vying for your agreement.  It’s trying to see if by chance you will accept it.  As a matter of fact and truth the word symptom means a sign of the existence of something  especially something undesirable.  The actual origin of the word symptom is the Greek word sumptoma which means chance.  But Jesus has not left the health of your body to ‘chance’.  He already secured your perfect health with every whiplash and beating he took before going to the cross.  As a matter of truth, the Kenneth Wuest Translation of the New Testament translates every word and its meaning directly from the Greek so that you can get a vivid picture of what happened.

“Who Himself carried up to the Cross our sins in His body and offered Himself there as on an altar, doing this in order that we, having died with respect to our sins, might live with respect to righteousness, by means of whose bleeding stripe [the word “stripe” is in the singular here; a picture of our Lord’s back after the scourging, one mass of raw, quivering flesh with no skin remaining, trickling with blood] you were healed.” I Peter 2:24 Kenneth Wuest Translation.

I want you to notice it did not say, ‘By doing everything you’re suppose to do, you were healed’  It does not say, ‘By keeping all the commandments you were healed’.  Am I against keeping the commandments?  No but you need to know as a New Testament believer, you are not under the law but under Grace.  That does not mean you just go live any kind of way.  Once the Grace of God is a revelation to you, you will only love Jesus more because HE IS GRACE!  GRACE is not a thing it’s a Person and that Person is JESUS!!!  The One who took the beatings, the spitting, the sickness, the disease, the lack for you.  For you it is free but for God the Father it is very costly as it cost Him His Son.

So see it this way, when a symptom tries to see if you will take a chance and accept it remember that SomeOne paid more than untold trillions of dollars for you to NEVER be sick another day in your life.  Do not let the enemy play you like a slot machine and pull the handle of your mind and God’s wheels come up with BLESSING and FAVOR and the enemy calls out SICKNESS and DISEASE and then sits back to see if you will accept it.  Since I am using this analogy I will just continue and please, I am not condoning or promoting gambling but, God has already designed The Way for you to roll sevens, every time all the time.  With the enemy you will simply be shooting craps.  Jesus never left you to be a victim to symptoms or to chance. His Way is sure each and every time.  He wants you to know that no matter what the world throws at you, you already have the victory because of what He has already done.  And that my friend is confidence not chance.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 New International Version

All the ‘blessed’ to you! Shalom!
