And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the LORD Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:18 New Living Translation

Imagine something for a moment.  What if you were in a relationship with someone and you had known of them for years.  You knew this and that about the person.  You knew some of their likes and dislikes. But let’s say after 20 years both of you were out at a restaurant together and you both ran into someone who knew your friend, say an old friend.  Your friend greets the old friend and then introduces them to you.  Since they are alone they ask the old friend to join you both at your table.  As the dinner progresses you all began to talk and laugh and speak of old times and different situations.  The old friend begins to share different things about your friend that you never knew. Things that they like, different trade crafts they had or have but have not been using while with you.  Your response may be, “I had no idea you could do that or I had no idea you enjoyed this or that!”  As the old friend and your friend continue to go on, you become quiet and just begin to listen as you realize that this old friend knows your friend better than you do. They have or had a different relationship. Not a romantic or sexual relationship but a deeper one.

At that time you realize that you are familiar with your friend but that person is or has been intimate with them. Most time when people think of intimacy they automatically think of sex but that is not really intimacy. Intimacy is openness, sharing, caring tenderness. Intimacy is a trust and a dependency.  A covenant relationship if you will.  What’s your point Vincent?  My point is when  you allow only  a minister or TV evangelist to teach you The Word you miss out on The Teacher Himself teaching you personally.  Perhaps this is the extent of your knowledge of The Word and all of your ministry is received in this manner.  While it is a good thing to attend church and hear The Word and listen to ministers by way of TV, or the internet or other mediums, it will never compare or fulfill you like spending time with The Word yourself.  You will be familiar with Jesus Who is The Word.  You will know His name and hear about some of the things He did and can do but it won’t be personal and intimate to you.  If that kind of surface relationship continues there WILL BE things that you will never find out until you get to Heaven about Jesus and The Father.  The Father never designed for you to have a  familiar or partial relationship with Him and Jesus and the Holy Spirit.  Intimacy was always His plan.  You see this in the garden of Eden when God the Father came down in the cool of the day to talk with Adam and Eve.  He has never changed.  This is a big reason why God found fault with the Old Testament.  He could not be close enough to His people by being in a box or the Ark.  No He wanted to be with them and in them and through the finished work of Christ He has now achieved the means to do so.  Knowing Jesus personally and intimately is ETERNAL LIFE!

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. I John 5:11 NIV

Get to know Him for yourself.  Don’t be content with a familiar relationship but pursue and intimate one.

All the ‘blessed’ to you!!! Shalom!

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.  2 Corinthians 9:8  English Standard Version

One of the greatest things about our Father and faith is that you don’t have to understand everything about it to have it work for you.  All the details and schematics and intricacies you will come to learn over time but to enjoy the benefits you only have to BELIEVE and RECEIVE.  It’s similar to electricity.  You may not know what a transformers is or a ceramic coupling and how it helps get electricity to your home but, you do know how to turn on a light switch.

When we look at the scripture above and the entire Word of God, we must see it as an opportunity for increase and abundance.  Why?  Because it says God is able to make ALL GRACE.  Now I am not going to even attempt to know every single blessing and benefit that could possibly be included in ALL GRACE but I can say, Poppa I thank you that Your Word says you are able to make ALL GRACE abound towards me so that I am always having all sufficiency in all things and so that I can be able to give to every good work SO BE IT UNTO ME ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD!!!

I say again, I may not know everything that it includes but when it shows up I will recognize that it is from Poppa.  Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of Lights and He will never change.  If it wasn’t His will to give ALL GRACE TO YOU He would have never put it as an option on the menu of His Word.  Receive ALL GRACE today and everyday.  Expect it and it will change your entire life.

All the ‘blessed’ to you!!! Shalom!

I made known your Name (Father) to the men whom You gave Me out of the world.  They were Yours, and You gave them to Me and Your Word they have held to firmly.  John 17:6 Kenneth Wuest Translation

It’s powerful to know that you were (and still are through Christ)  God the Father’s.  In that scripture  Jesus says,  “They were Yours and You gave them to Me.”  You need to understand the power of that single statement before we move on.  You belonged to God.  You WERE God’s and He turned around and then gave you to Jesus.  Understand and believe these three things.

  • God the Father does not have trash.
  • God the Father does not keep trash.
  • God the Father does not make trash.

The Father made you.  You have a very high intrinsic value.  Poppa is the GREATEST GIVER there is.  He does not give cheap gifts.  It’s not in His nature and its not Who He is or what He does.  If you want to see what kind of gifts Poppa gives just look at Jesus, a priceless Gift given to us.  We know God the Father has given us Jesus but what a lot of believers do not know is that Poppa gave YOU to Jesus as a permanent gift.  This is mentioned twice in the book of John.  The Kenneth Wuest Translation is a direct translation from the actual Greek.

Father, that which you have given Me as a permanent gift, I desire that where I am, also those might be with Me,….  John 17:24 Kenneth Wuest Translation

And I give  to them life eternal.  And they shall positively not perish, never.  And no one will snatch them by force out of My Hand.  My Father Who gave them to Me as a permanent gift is greater than all.  John 10-27-29  Kenneth Wuest Translation

Do you know how precious you have to be for Poppa to give you as a permanent gift?  Jesus was given to us as a permanent gift so the Father must see you as valuable as Jesus.  He sees you in and through Jesus.  To the Father there is no difference between you and Jesus.  Don’t take my word for it take The Word for it.

And as for Myself, the glory which You have given Me, I have given them, in order that they might be one even as We are One, I in them and You in Me, in order that they, having been brought  to the state of completeness with respect to Oneness, may persist  in that state of completeness, to the end that the world might be understanding that You sent Me on a mission and that you loved them even as You loved Me.  John 17:22-23  Kenneth Wuest Translation

God the Father loves you just as much as He loves Jesus.  That is what The Word just said.  You are valuable to The Father.  A good Dad if he can afford it does not give his children cheap gifts.  He gives them the best he can afford.  Poppa can afford everything and anything and He gave His best when He gave Jesus and anything less is a lesser gift than Jesus.  So your healing is a lesser gift,  prosperity is a lesser gift than Jesus.  The Word of God says, “how shall He not with Him (Jesus) FREELY give us ALL THINGS!  Never doubt your value to The Father or to Jesus.  Jesus received you as a gift from His Father and He values you.   If Jesus values you, who else do you need?  YOU ARE A GIFT!! A PERMANENT GIFT!!! Rest in that truth and smile all year!!!!!

All the ‘blessed’ to you!!! Shalom

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2 KJV

What is the “perfect will of God the Father” for you?  It’s easier to find than you think.  Just go back to Genesis 1 and 2.  The Father never changes.  His will then was for you to be abundantly provided for, never to struggle, to live easy and with perfect conditions, temperatures and situations.   Never to experience sin and death and old age and sickness and disease.  The Father has NEVER changed His mind and He never will.

But when Adam sinned it seemed that plan was ruined. However, The Father is never caught off guard.  He had GRACE already planned.  Abraham lived under God’s Grace not the law and commandments.  None of these had been given.  When you look at Abraham he was healthy, very rich and victorious.  You don’t see anywhere in the Bible where Abraham was sick.   Sounds like Jesus doesn’t it?  This is because Abraham was righteous and HE KNEW IT.

And Abram believed the LORD, and the LORD counted him as righteous because of his faith. Genesis 15:6 New Living Translation

After this when God decided to destroy Sodom and Abraham’s nephew Lot was there, he reminded the Lord about this righteousness.

Abraham approached him and said, “Will you sweep away both the righteous and the wicked?  Genesis 18:23  New Living Translation

So Abraham brought up his righteousness before God.  It was not so much his as it was the righteousness that God had given him or credited him with.  That righteousness delivered Lot from death.  The Father always keeps His Word.

Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.  Proverbs 11:4 New Living Translation

So we see here that righteousness can deliver a person from the wrath of God and death.  Death never was God’s plan anyway especially for His children.  If The Father will deliver you from death through the righteousness of His Son, you can best believe He can, will and HAS delivered you from any and everything else like debt, lack, sickness, disease and trouble.  I believe that!!!  If He will deliver you from the greater and more dangerous He will deliver you from the least.

Righteousness and Grace is God the Father’s perfect will and GRACE is Jesus.  Both of these come through Jesus.

For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:17 New Living Translation

So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:21 New Living Translation

So confess daily that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus knowing that righteousness delievereth out of trouble, sin and death.    When you do God’s perfect will be made manifest to you because it is Jesus Himself. And Jesus is already in you so you have THE VICTORY!!!

All the ‘blessed’ to you!!! Shalom!

For all The Fullness of The Deity dwells in Him (Jesus) bodily. And you also are completed in Him, who is The Head of all Principalities and Powers Colossians 2:9-10 Aramaic Bible in Plain English

Have you ever heard or said, “Well, nobody’s perfect!” Sure you have, we have all said it probably at one time or another. But let’s see what God’s Word says about it because that is the thing that matters.

The LORD will perfect [that which] concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, [endureth] for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands. Psalm 138:8 KJV

The word perfect in that verse is the Hebrew word gamar. It means to end, come to an end or complete.

Since the law has only a shadow of the good things to come, and not the actual form of those realities, it can never perfect the worshipers by the same sacrifices they continually offer year after year. Hebrews 10:1 Holman Christian Standard Bible

The word perfect in the above verse is the greek word teleioo. Very similar to the Hebrew word gamar. Teleioo means to to bring to an end, to complete, perfect, to consummate, bring to its end stage. The verse shows the greatness of the New Testament versus the Old as it says that the law could never perfect the worshippers(you) because it was just a shadow.

For He found fault with them, and he said, “Behold, the days are coming, says THE LORD JEHOVAH, and I will perfect a New Covenant for the family of the house of Israel and for the family of the house of Judah.” Hebrews 8:8 Aramaic Bible in Plain English

We are of the house of Judah just as Jesus was and it is through Him that we are of that house. We are also spiritual Israel. The Lord Himself here says the New Covenant will be perfect and it is. He never said that of the Old covenant. So what we have is a multiplicity of scriptures that talk about us being or becoming complete or perfect. How is that? Because the New Covenant is all about and all for US. So what does this have to do with you with all your apparent faults and mistakes and missteps? EVERYTHING!!! Because you are in Him, in Christ Jesus, The Word says YOU ARE COMPLETE IN HIM. Not that you are going to be but you are. The law could never make you perfect but Jesus Who is GRACE and TRUTH has made you perfect in and through Himself. It’s not based on what you done or have not done. Look at this scripture

In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for Whom and through Whom everything exists, should make (Jesus) the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what He suffered Hebrews 2:10 New International Version

God the Father made Jesus the man PERFECT through what “HE” suffered. Not what you suffer. You have no business suffering because He already suffered for you. If we all were going to suffer, then Jesus could have stayed at home, saved Himself the beating, the spit, the crown of thorns and everything else. Because Jesus was made perfect and you are in Him YOU ARE PERFECT!!!!

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world. I John 4:17 KJV

By this Love(God the Father) is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment, because just as Jesus is, so also are we in this world. I John 4:17 NET Bible

So our love is even made perfect through Jesus. Our perfection is in Christ not in ourselves. So if Jesus says you are perfect, who are you going to believe? Are you going to believe Him, the world or yourself?

All the ‘blessed’ to you!!! Shalom!

With this in mind, we always pray that our God will make you worthy of His call. We also pray that through [His] power He will help you accomplish every good desire and help you do everything your faith produces.  2 Thessalonians 1:11 God’s Word Translation

If you are born again, YOU ARE THE RIGHTEOUS OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS!!! And whether you know it or not being righteous is powerful.  Its gives you rights!!!  You have a right to be healthy. You have a right to live a whole, full long and abundant life that is vibrant and active even into old age. But what about those dreams and desires you have inside. The thing that just won’t go away.  The thing that may not seem very spiritual but it brings you great joy and you light up when its brought up in a conversation.  Whether you know it or not these are things that your faith is producing.  “Well Brother Vincent, I want to raise horses. That does not seem very spiritual.”  That’s what you think.  Have you ever heard of the book or movie The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R Tolkien?  Mr Tolkien was a Christian and is even deemed responsible for leading another well known author and Christian to the Lord, C.S. Lewis.  Many of his designs and characters such as Middle Earth came from a life long love of trees, beings he brought to life in his stories.  What does this have to do with The Lord?  Everything.  Even after your born again God may shape but he does not change your personality because it is part of the ‘weirdness’ He designed you with to bring to the world.  Many people are shocked to find out that weird means supernatural.

Today many people have given up their weirdness to assimilate and be like some supposed celebrity or star.  I use the word star very loosely because many of the people that are called stars are not and I do not say this based talent.  What is the most outstanding and noticeable element of a star, a real star in the sky?  It has light!!!  The origin of the word weird means  having the power to control destiny.  Your weirdness has the power to control your destiny and because you are righteous you are to live by faith and when you do Poppa, God the Father releases His Power to help you accomplish EVERY GOOD DESIRE and help you do EVERYTHING YOUR FAITH PRODUCES.  J.R.R. Tolkien did not set out to make some epic story. He simply wrote what was in his heart, not what he heard from someone else.  Take joy in being you.  Honor God by honoring your own uniqueness.  Know that your desires are good and that you have been granted the power and permission to bring them to pass.  As I often say, don’t take my word for it, take The Word for it.

The desire of the righteous is only good… Proverbs 11:23 King James Verison

…but the desire of the righteous shall be granted. Proverbs 10:24 King James Version

God’s Word Who is Jesus says, that the desire of the righteous is only good and that that desire is granted.  So believe Poppa to help you accomplish every good desire and to help you do everything your faith produces.

All the blessed to you!!! Shalom!

Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the One He has sent.”  John 6:29 New Living Translation

Have you ever thought about what the world considers a full-time job.  When you think about it, you see right off the back that it’s a lie.  “What do you mean Brother Vincent?”  I mean do you work at your job 24 hours a day seven days a week?  Of course not.  So to be completely truthful even a job that someone is working 60-70 hours a week in is not a full-time job.  Everyone has simply accepted what that world has classified as full-time but really they are all part-time jobs.  But we are not talking about the world here, we are talking about believers.  Believers do have a full-time job.  Not all of them go to work but they do have a full-time job.  What is that work or job?  BELIEVING!!!

Look at the above mentioned scripture.  This is Jesus Our Lord and Saviour talking.  He said, “This is the only WORK God wants from you:  Believe in the One He has sent.”  So what Jesus is saying the only work the Father wants from you is to believe in His Son.  Did He say just believe in Him when you go to work? No.  Did He say just believe in Him when you have a problem?  No.  He said BELIEVE.  This believing here is perpetual and infinite.  How do I know that?  Because Poppa never changes.  In Genesis chapter 1, God said, “Let there be light!!!”   There is still that light today and scientist have proven that the universe continues to expand right up until now.  Why?  Because God never said, “Light stop!”  Jesus never said, “Stop believing.”  He simply said, “Believe in the One He has sent.”  Understand that this is your full-time job.  You are to be believing all the time.  When you wake up, when you go to sleep.  When you go to work, when you go to the movies, when you watch TV.  How can I do that?  Easy!  Simply understand that it’s not hard to do when you know that that is who and what you are.  YOU ARE A BELIEVER!!!! That is what you do you believe!!!  Do you understand your full-time job now.  If not, read it again.  If so, GET TO WORK!!!

All the ‘blessed’  to you!!! Shalom!

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. Hebrews 4:1 King James Version

We have learned much about His Rest all this week. It is the Father’s desire as well as my desire that you have a greater desire and inspiration to make sure you enter into this rest.  Knowing that it belongs to you is key as is knowing the truth.  Jesus said that the truth that you know is what makes you free.  Free from worry. Free from fear.  Free from anxiety.  The ability to live free all provided by this rest thru Jesus’s finished work. Lets look at another key element of rest.

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.  Romans 5:1 NIV

Since we have been justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.  That word peace in that scripture is the Greek word eirene.  But I want to take it a bit further because the Hebrew meaning of that word is the word shalom.  Shalom is one of my favorite multifaceted words.  Shalom means completeness, wholeness, health, peace, welfare, safety soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, the absence of agitation or discord.  As you can see rest is included in shalom along with a host of other good things.  Lets look at another scripture regarding shalom from Jesus Himself.

“What I am leaving with you is shalom — I am giving you my shalom. I don’t give the way the world gives. Don’t let yourselves be upset or frightened. John 14:27 Complete Jewish Bible

So here you have a scripture where Jesus Himself clearly states that He has left you shalom which includes rest.  In addition He is not just leaving you any shalom.  He has given you HIS SHALOM.  So this means that the same completeness, wholeness, health, peace, welfare, safety soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, the absence of agitation or discord that Jesus Himself had while He was here on Earth is what He has turned around and given to each and every believer who will know it, believe it and receive it.  This shalom enabled Jesus to remain calm while people tried to push Him off of a cliff.  The shalom enabled Jesus to sleep while a storm was going on in a boat and it was filling up with water.  This shalom enabled Jesus to take five loaves and two fish and feed an entire group of people with 5000 men not counting women and children.

My point is that rest is powerful and it enables you to carry out The Father’s plan for you allowing you to walk and enjoy His finished work while you are resting.  Take sometime this weekend and think about that and become fully persuaded to live a life in His Rest.

All the blessed to you!!! Shalom!

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. Hebrews 4:1 King James Version

All week we have been talking about His Rest and the finished work of our Father and The Lord Jesus Christ.  It has been great and eye-opening.  I have checked myself in certain areas and realized areas where I was not resting.  Do you know you can rest in one area and not rest in another?  Lets say in the area of finances.  You may be fine, plenty in the bank account, retirement account etc., but what about that a persistent small pain that tries to nag at your body continually?  Are you just putting up with that?  Are you thinking thoughts like, “It’s not that bad!”  My friend Jesus died for you to be completely free in your finances and your health and every other area.  Don’t make a mistake and settle for anything less than ALL that Poppa has provided thru Christ Jesus.  Also even though you may be good in your finances do a check and make sure your confidence is not in money or what you have. It is good and great and right to have savings and emergency and retirement accounts but your trust must be in JESUS.  Lets take a look at The Father speaking about rest in another chapter.

God has told his people, “Here is a place of rest; let the weary rest here. This is a place of quiet rest.” But they would not listen. Isaiah 11:28 New Living Translation

You would think if God told someone to rest and showed them the place to rest that they would say,”Cool Lord, I am going to rest.”  But humans and the human mind does not work that way.  It wants to do something and if you examine the core of the issue many times its so the person can say, “I did this!”  That is self-righteousness.  When a person thinks Poppa blesses them because they went to church or served at church or they were nice to someone this knocks Jesus finished work to second class and The Lord is not going to allow that.  Not because He’s a glory hog but because He knows its dangerous.  That self-righteousness will turn into pride and pride goes before the fall.

The beginning of Hebrews four verse three says something very important.

For only we who believe can enter His rest. Hebrews 4:3 New Living Translation

Trusting in our own works is not believing.  It is self-righteousness.  Your righteousness and dependence on what you can do is limited.  You can only go so far and do so much.  But Jesus’s righteousness can and has covered all. It is the righteousness  of God in Christ.  God does not give us any faith He gives us His faith.  God does not give us any righteousness He gives us His righteousness.  When you depend on His Word and His righteousness you can rest.

All the blessed to you!!! Shalom!

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. Hebrews 4:1 King James Version

Rest is great.  His rest is greater.  God the Father wants us to enter into His Rest.  The best way to enter into this rest is to know that just as He rested from all His works, you can now rest from works as well because of the Grace Who is ours in the Person of Jesus. When Jesus was on the Cross and He cried, “It is finished!”, he meant it.  The days of trying to please God by doing this and doing that and not doing this and not touching that are over.  If you think that your works are going to get you points with God you are not in rest you are in works.  Your own works.  Rest means accepting totally and completely what Jesus did for you.  Lets pick up where we left off yesterday.

1So the creation of the heavens and the earth and everything in them was completed. 2O the seventh day God had finished His work of creation, so He rested from all His work. 3And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when He rested from all His work of creation. Genesis 2:1-3 New Living Translation

We see here that on the seventh day God the Father rested from all His work. If you are familiar with the Bible you will probably be familiar with this scripture.

But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. 2 Peter 3:8 New Living Translation

When we understand this verse, it provides even greater revelation of how and why we are to enter into His Rest.  It has been approximately over six thousand years since Adam.  We are right at the cusp in the natural ‘time wise’ where we are butting right up against the seven thousandth year.  So if a day with the Lord is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day, you can see that God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy because it was the day when He rested from all His work.  So based on our main text scripture, God is telling us to enter to His Rest now and to fear not doing so.  Why?  Because for the believer this is the seventh day.  But Jesus is not back yet?  How do we do this?  You do it by faith!!  You mix what the Father said with faith and say, “Father I enter into your Rest right here and right now!!!.”  I am there!! I am at rest.  The just shall live by faith not time!!!  Don’t ever forget that!!!  God the Father and Jesus are not bound by time and so neither are you.  When you come to Jesus by accepting Him as Lord and Saviour He has said He will give you rest.

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 New Living Translation

Is Jesus going to give you a different rest than The Father already said He would give.  Of course not.  Jesus is the way into His Rest.  If you study it out the true meaning of what Jesus said is, ‘If you come to me, I will rest you!.”  God is not bound by time.  He does not have to wait until a certain time of day or month or year comes.  He lives in eternity!  He is in 1800.  He is in 2016 and He is in 2026, or 2036 or 2300 RIGHT NOW.  On the Jewish calendar right now we are in the year 5776? Interesting isn’t it?   When you know that you are a son of God with full rights and benefits to Iive and function with the same power and authority as Jesus, you can live in the six thousandth year as if it was the seventh thousandth year and rest.  Why?  Because you have permission to do so from The Word and from God the Father Himself.  He is the One Who told you to do it and that is why you can do it.  Don’t doubt like the children of Israel when leaving Egypt for Canaan.  God brought them out and made them rich over night.  Yet you have so many preachers teaching people, “Its not going to happen overnight.”  It did for the children of Israel!!!  And we have a better covenant.  Again God is not bound by time, He overrides time.  Jesus did this constantly while He was here on Earth reducing 30 years of natural time into a moment to make the best wine for the wedding in John chapter 2.  He also healed Peter’s mother in law and reduced hours or days or weeks of recovery time into a moment where she is instantly healed and gets up and begins to serve guest.    Jesus promised if we BELIEVE on and in Him, that GREATER WORKS than these will we do because He goes to the Father.

That’s a lot to chew on, so we will end there.  Stay with us all week and take your stand and enter into His Rest today.

All the ‘blessed’ to you!!! Shalom!
