“the One who saved us and divinely summoned us in the sphere of a holy summons, not according to our works but according to His own private purpose and grace which [grace] was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.” 2 Timothy 1:9 Kenneth Wuest Translation
Grace is such a great Person. That’s right I said Person. Grace is the Person of Jesus Christ. He is the Spirit of Grace. We have been saved by Grace and we are under Grace. Jesus (Grace) was given to us by the Father as a permanent gift. and we were also given to Jesus (Grace) as a permanent gift.
“in order that there might be fulfilled the word which He spoke, Those whom you have given me as a permanent gift, I lost not even one of them.” John 18:9 Kenneth Wuest Translation
It is interesting to see that God the Father has divinely summoned us not according to our works but according to His own private purpose. I encourage you to pray and thank the Father that you are walking in His Private Purpose. But our topic today is Grace. So he called us according to His Own private purpose and grace. Notice the next part of the verse, “which grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.” This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, so that makes grace timeless. Do you realize what that means?
- Time cannot affect Grace, Grace affects time.
- Grace runs time.
- Grace controls time.
- Grace created time. Time is a tool of Grace.
Think about Jesus (Grace) in John 2. Grace sped up time to turn water into not just wine but the best wine. It takes about 7-12 years for wine and even longer for good wine to be created in the natural. Jesus bypassed that time process and the natural process of needing to grow grapes. And I want you to pay close attention to this first miracle. It was a miracle of CONVENIENCE. They didn’t have to have more wine, they had already had wine they simply WANTED more wine. This was not some dire necessity. Psalms 23 says, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.” God the Father does not just want to meet your needs, but your wants and desires.
Jesus gave us Himself, Grace before time ever began. That grace is timeless and it is powerful. So powerful indeed that combined with His Righteousness (another gift from God the Father that is ours through Jesus Christ) that grace will cause you and me to REIGN IN LIFE!!! I did not say that, The Word of God did.
For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Romans 5:17 King James Version
Grace is timeless. Grace is powerful. Grace is Jesus Himself Who is a gift from God. Grace is from God. When you receive Grace you are receiving Jesus Himself. He is FULL of GRACE and TRUTH!!
All the “blessed” to you!!! Shalom!
