And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac. Genesis 25:5 King James Version

If you have been a believer you may be familiar with the story of Abraham.  God blessed Abraham and made Him prosperous and rich and He did it by GIVING to Abraham. Many believers don’t realize it but Abraham was under the covenant of GRACE just as New Testament believers are today.  The same Gospel and Jesus that you believe in is the same Gospel that God the Father preached to Abraham thousands of years ago.  God the Father GAVE wealth to Abraham even in the midst of Abraham lying, being fearful and letting another man take his wife. Right in that situation God blessed, protected, prospered and increased Abraham and Sarah and punished the man that Abraham gave his wife too.  Why? Because Abraham was righteous.

11As he was approaching the border of Egypt, Abram said to his wife, Sarai, “Look, you are a very beautiful woman. 12When the Egyptians see you, they will say, ‘This is his wife. Let’s kill him; then we can have her!’ 13So please tell them you are my sister. Then they will spare my life and treat me well because of their interest in you.”
14And sure enough, when Abram arrived in Egypt, everyone noticed Sarai’s beauty. 15When the palace officials saw her, they sang her praises to Pharaoh, their king, and Sarai was taken into his palace. 16Then Pharaoh gave Abram many gifts because of her—sheep, goats, cattle, male and female donkeys, male and female servants, and camels.

17But the LORD sent terrible plagues upon Pharaoh and his household because of Sarai, Abram’s wife. Genesis 12:16 New Living Translation

I want you to notice something.  Who was in fear that someone could take their life here?  Abram!  Who was willing to let his wife be taken so that his life would be spared, a selfish and cowardly act? Abram!  Who was given material blessings for giving up his wife? Abram!   Now notice one more thing.  Who got punished with plagues? Pharaoh.  Something is not fair. Abram is the one who lied and was in fear and selfishly gave up his wife to save his own self but God punished Pharaoh.  GRACE IS NOT FAIR!!!  Had this been a situation where they were under law, the law would have demanded that Abraham be punished. Instead God saw to it that material blessing was given to Abram and he got his wife back and still got to keep all of his stuff.

I want you to see a very profound truth.  Look at the conditional nature of the law.

“And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the LORD sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. I Chronicles 28:9 New Living Translation

But if you or your descendants abandon me and disobey the commands and decrees I have given you, and if you serve and worship other gods, 7then I will uproot Israel from this land that I have given them. I will reject this Temple that I have made holy to honor my name. I will make Israel an object of mockery and ridicule among the nations. 8And though this Temple is impressive now, all who pass by will be appalled and will shake their heads in amazement. They will ask, ‘Why did the LORD do such terrible things to this land and to this Temple?’ I Kings 9:6-8 New Living Translation

You shall remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day. Deuteronomy 8:18 English Standard Version

God does not change.  Even under the law, He still keeps his covenant He swore to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  But before the law you see God the Father GIVING wealth to people. Under the Law, God gives people the power to get wealth.  But under Grace God gives people life, wealth, health and healing and wholeness. Notice all the GIVING going on.

Then Pharaoh gave Abram many gifts because of her—sheep, goats, cattle, male and female donkeys, male and female servants, and camels.  Genesis 12:16 King James Version

Pharaoh gave Abram many gifts and the gifts were not taken back when Pharaoh had to give back Sarai his wife.

And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac. Genesis 25:5 King James Version

Abraham (who is a picture of God the Father), gave Isaac (who is a picture of Jesus the Son) all he had.

The LORD caused the Egyptians to look favorably on the Israelites, and they gave the Israelites whatever they asked for. So they stripped the Egyptians of their wealth!  Exodus 12:36 New Living Translation

They were given the Egyptians wealth.

So the sons of Israel did this. Joseph gave them carts, as Pharaoh had commanded, and he also gave them provisions for their journey.  To each of them he gave new clothing, but to Benjamin he gave three hundred shekels of silver and five sets of clothes. Genesis 45:21-22 New International Version

Joseph (who is a picture of Jesus) gave them carts and provisions for their journey.

The Law demands but Grace gives or supplies. Study this out for yourself. Even in the Garden of Eden, Adam did not have to do anything, everything was given to him and prepared for him before he was even placed into the garden. God never changes.  This is in no way saying people should not work but our prosperity comes from Jesus!!! Before the law was given God the Father was simply giving and blessing.  Under the law, things were conditional. But now because of Jesus GRACE has been restored by us having peace with God the Father thru the Lord Jesus Christ.  Romans 5:1 declares this.  Grace is undeserved, unmerited favor.  Its based on what Jesus did, His finished work. This is how we reign in life by receiving the abundance of GRACE who is Jesus.

All the blessed to you!!! Shalom!
