JUST DA TRUTH – ABOUT HOPE

May God, the giver of hope, fill you with continual joy and peace because you trust in Him–so that you may have abundant hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13  Weymouth New Testament

Has anyone ever asked you a question and you answered, not really in confidence? “Hey So and so, is everything working out for you?  I don’t know! I hope so.”  This type of hope is simply wishful thinking and double mindedness.  “Well it may work out or maybe it won’t, I am not sure.”  This is not Bible hope.  The word hope in the Bible is the greek word elpis and it means an expectation of what is sure. It also means trust and confidence.  When you put it together it is a confident and joyful expectation of what is good.  This is why this scripture calls God the Father the Giver or Source of HOPE.  The Father is not the Source of things that are uncertain and may or may not happen.  The way He gives hope is through His promises which are sure!

For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for His glory. 2 Corinthians 1:20 New Living Translation

So you see all of God’s promises have already been fulfilled in Christ.  So when you place a demand on a promise the answer is already a resounding or definite YES!!!  Then when you add your AMEN or so be it, this ascends and brings glory to God.  Lets look at another familiar scripture that contains hope.

I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD. They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope  Jeremiah 29:11 God’s Word Translation

So God the Father has a future filled with what is sure as you trust and have confidence in Him.  Look to Him and trust in Him and let Him know that you are looking to Him and trusting in Him to bring it to pass,  One of the main ways to have your hope full and confident is to get a revelation of how much God loves you.  Then your hope will never put you to shame.

And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love. Romans 5:5 New Living Translation

When you have a revelation of how much God loves you, you know He can only do you good and this gives you a confident expectation of good from Him and all His promises because of what is yours through Christ Jesus.  Even if the situation looks impossible remember Abraham.  The Bible says Abraham hoped against hoped.

Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping–believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have! Romans 4:18 New Living Translation

Find out what The Word of God says and then jack your hope up just as high as you can get it then let the Holy Ghost take it even higher.  Poppa has promised that hope will not disappoint because He loves you.

All the ‘blessed’ to you!!! Shalom!

  1. Great post, Vincent. Hope is a word that’s really never used correctly. So it’s an expectation, not a wondering or pie-in-the-sky ‘if only’ sort of thing. Then faith is the manifestation (the materialization) of the thing hoped for (expected). I’m going to meditate on this today. Thank you for the reminder.

May God favor the works of your hands today and always,
